Russian Orthodox churches are known for their beauty, an other-worldly beauty which draws the worshiper into a refined world of prayer and love for God, people, and creation. The earthly temple has one overriding purpose: to help the believer in becoming a living temple of God, casting out the ugliness of sins and judgmentalism, acquiring the grace of the Holy Spirit in humility and love. This struggle and its fruits represent the true beauty of the Church.
